Our position
African Luxury Group Limited ("we", "the atelier") does not tolerate modern slavery, human trafficking, or forced labour in any part of our operations or supply chain.
Our current annual turnover is below the £36 million threshold that triggers the mandatory Modern Slavery Act 2015 statement requirement. This statement is published voluntarily because we believe transparency about supply-chain provenance should not depend on company size.
Our supply chain
Every piece is designed, cut, stitched and finished at our own atelier in Bethnal Green, London. We employ our makers directly on PAYE contracts. No production is outsourced.
Our materials are sourced from:
- Italian tanneries in Emilia-Romagna and Tuscany, all LWG-certified and independently audited
- UK hardware foundries — a small foundry in Birmingham that has supplied us since our second season
- UK textile suppliers for interior linings
- Nigerian craftspeople for select bespoke commissions, engaged as freelance contractors at fair rates
Steps we take
- All new suppliers complete a due-diligence questionnaire before their first order
- We visit our primary tanneries in person at least once per year
- We do not work with third-party wholesale agents who cannot demonstrate their own supply-chain audits
- All atelier makers earn above the Real Living Wage (London rate)
- Any concern raised by a supplier employee is investigated immediately
