This Privacy Policy explains how African Luxury Group Limited (trading as Daniel Diyepriye) collects, uses and protects your personal data when you visit our storefront, place an order, reserve a piece, or write to the atelier.

We are the data controller for personal data collected through danieldiyepriye.com, our transactional emails, our customer service email, and our WhatsApp business account. Registered office: 3rd Floor, 45 Albemarle Street, Mayfair, London, W1S 4JL. Contact: danieldiyepriye@protonmail.com.

1 · What we collect

  • Identity and contact — name, email, billing address, shipping address, phone number when you reserve, order, subscribe or write to us.
  • Payment — card details are handled by Shopify Payments, Stripe, PayPal and Shop Pay. We never see or store your full card number.
  • Order and reservation history — items ordered or reserved, pool participation, delivery status, returns.
  • Communications — the content of messages you send us and our replies.
  • Device and usage — IP address, browser type, pages visited, referral source (via Shopify's built-in analytics, and via GA4 / Meta Pixel / TikTok Pixel when marketing consent is given).

2 · Why we use it (legal basis under UK GDPR)

  • Contract — to process orders, take reservation deposits, charge balances when a pool of ten closes, deliver your piece, process returns. Article 6(1)(b).
  • Consent — to send marketing emails, run-open notifications, and to fire analytics / advertising pixels. Article 6(1)(a). You can withdraw consent at any time via the unsubscribe link or the cookie banner.
  • Legitimate interest — to improve the site, prevent fraud, and manage the atelier's operations. Article 6(1)(f).
  • Legal obligation — to keep transaction records for 6 years for UK tax and accounting. Article 6(1)(c) · HMRC requirement.

3 · Who we share it with

  • Shopify Inc. — storefront hosting and order management
  • Shopify Payments, Stripe, PayPal, Shop Pay — payment processing
  • Royal Mail, DPD, DHL Express — shipping and delivery
  • Resend, SendGrid — transactional and marketing email
  • Meta (WhatsApp Business API) — customer service messaging (only if you initiate contact via WhatsApp)
  • Google Analytics 4, Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel — anonymised site usage and advertising performance (only when marketing consent is given)
  • UK tax authorities and law enforcement — where legally required

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

4 · International transfers

Some of the processors above (Shopify, Stripe, Resend, SendGrid, Google, Meta, TikTok) transfer data to the United States or other jurisdictions outside the UK. Transfers are made under the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, both approved adequacy mechanisms.

5 · How long we keep it

  • Order and reservation records — 7 years (HMRC requirement for transaction records)
  • Marketing subscribers — until you unsubscribe
  • Customer service correspondence — 3 years from last contact
  • Site analytics — anonymised after 26 months

6 · Your rights (UK GDPR)

You have the right to:

  • Access — a copy of the personal data we hold on you
  • Rectification — correction of inaccurate data
  • Erasure — deletion where we no longer have a lawful basis to hold your data
  • Portability — a machine-readable export of your data
  • Objection — to processing based on legitimate interest or direct marketing
  • Withdrawal of consent — at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal
  • Complaint to the Information Commissioner's Office

7 · Cookies

We use cookies in three categories:

  • Essential — cart, session, checkout, security, load balancing. Always on. Cannot be disabled.
  • Analytics — Shopify built-in analytics and GA4 (when populated). Opt-in via the cookie banner.
  • Marketing — Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel (when populated). Opt-in via the cookie banner.
